Herm Island Wedding

Friday, Jun 4, 2010Weddings

We recently completed a fantastic wedding on the island of Herm and I am delighted to be able to show you several of my favourite images from that wedding. Despite the ash cloud the vast majority of guests made it to the wedding despite having to come from all over the world.

I must thank Thilo & Sophie for making sure that I was well looked after and had a fantastic day documenting their wedding.

For those of you that are interested my favourite image is of the bride walking down the corridor. She was on a mission to get from her room to the ceremony in double quick time.

Enjoy the images and feel free to ask any questions or make any comments.

Andy's recent weddings

Thursday, May 27, 2010Weddings

Trying to get Andy, our principal photographer, to sit down and choose a selection of his favourite images from recent weddings for inclusion into our blog is quite difficult. He is a busy chap and has always got his head down in post production or is actually out working for clients (or surfing). However, we have managed to sit down and go through some of his recent weddings this week.

As usual, we love to hear from you so do feel free to send us an email or make a comment and the end of this blog post.

China and Free Wedding Photography

Friday, May 21, 2010Weddings

I am unable to fathom that it is nearing the end of May already. Where have all the months gone.......

Firstly, I must apologise for my absence on this blog. It has been a busy few months with weddings and other projects that we have been working on. I have even received several emails complaining that I was not keeping the blog up to date! Fair enough, it has been a while!

So what have I been doing.

I decided to spend some quality time with the family at the beginning of the year as last year was pretty busy. In March we visited Shanghai, China and had an amazing time there. China always tops my list of favourite countries. We love everything about it. After our trip we decided to learn Mandarin and are really enjoying it. A big thank you to Xu (our teacher) for putting up with us and the chaos of the Keenan family. Louis (4) is amazing and now actually talks to himself in Chinese!

We then took some time out to visit family in Spain and enjoyed the food, swimming, fishing, staying up late and getting up early!!

Now, back to the real business of weddings and what we at CKP have been up to!

We have started training a couple of very experienced photographers in the art of wedding photography. This is proving to be quite successful and we look forward to announcing the official launch of those photographers as part of the CKP Wedding team in the near future. We decided to expand the business quite a while ago and it has taken us a while to find the right photographers to join us. We were looking for photographers that were not already wedding photographers but photographers that already had a successful career within a different area of photography and were excellent story tellers. We are putting a lot of time and effort into their wedding training and we are impressed with how it is going. This will enable us as a business to reach more clients and offer different types of service which we hope will be very good for our clients.

The photographers are currently assisting us with weddings to get a feel for how we work but what we would really like to do is to give them some experience as principal photographers.

So, if you are getting married between 1 September 2010 and 12 December 2010 in England and would like your wedding documented free of charge please email Carol telling us all about yourself and your wedding and why you would like to be photographed by the CKP team. Feel free to send us a picture of yourself too! Entries will close on Wednesday 30 June 2010!

We will post some images from weddings which both myself and Andy have documented recently on the blog shortly.

Christian

Testimonial

Friday, Mar 19, 2010Weddings

It is wonderful for us at CKP to receive testimonials from our clients and I thought it would be nice to share one we received lately.

“Dear Christian and Andy

We just wanted to say that we are so so thrilled with the images you captured of our wedding day and cannot thank you enough. They are just incredible, better than we ever hoped for and could have imagined and there is nothing we can say to express just how grateful we are to you both.  The day passed by so quickly and to be able to look back on such beautiful images which capture every moment is something we will treasure forever.

Your service throughout has been first rate - both in the lead-up to the wedding and on the day itself.  You were so reassuring and a pleasure to work with and have around on the day.  You worked so hard to capture every detail and moment and yet somehow managed to do so without being noticed. Since then you and the rest of the team (a big thank you to Jody and Carol too!) have been so patient with us, taking time to listen to all of our comments and providing us with great advice to ensure we have the most beautiful wedding album we could hope for. We could not be more thrilled with the end result.

Thank you so much for everything that you have done. We can’t recommend you enough – not that we’ll need to – your images speak for themselves and many of our friends have already asked for your number since viewing our images!

Best wishes - Claire and Jon”

And the winner is......

Thursday, Mar 11, 2010Weddings

And the winner of our 2009 Picture of the Year competition is..........number 25!

This image was taken at Grosnez Castle in Jersey, Channel Islands and I think is a great example of working in low light and how a tiny bit of movement can add a different quality to an image.

So congratulations to the winning couple, there is a bottle of Champagne and an 18" x 12" print on it's way to you. I have also drawn a winner from all the people that voted on our blog and the winner is Mrs C who will be receiving a bottle of Champagne.

Thank you to all who took the time to vote!
