I thought I would post a selection of our 2007 award winning images from the Wedding Photojournalist Association.
The WPJA is an organisation of wedding photojournalists from around the world that provide clients with a documentary approach to their wedding. I am one of about 30 UK photographers that have been accepted into the WPJA.
They run 4 competitions a year divided into several categories. So far this year I have won a 1st and 3rd place and three other placements within the top 20.

Winter Weddings

We love winter weddings!
Why? Because we love the mood that the winter light creates. Here are a selection of my favourite images from a recent December wedding.
The first image is a nice detail shot of the church. |
| A lovely image of the church as the sun sets. |
| I really love the expressions of the bride and her father as they walk down the aisle together! |
| I really like this image of the bride signing the register with the grooms hand in the foreground holding the bouquet. |
| This is the type of image we are looking for the during the course of the day....an intimate moment between the bride and groom. |
| I find the movement in this image really interesting as the groom enters the dining room. |
| I really enjoy documenting the guests during the day and here is a wonderful image of a couple dancing. |
| Another moment of intimacy as the bride and groom enjoy a quite moment together! |
We were recently commissioned to produce a series of limited edition prints for a client. We just finished work on some of them today and I thought I would share some of the images with you. The locations are all in Jersey, Channel Islands, where we have our studio. We have used a series of textures to produce something different! This first picture is of Grosnez castle.

Wedding Show

We had a fantastic time today at the wedding show! It is always great to meet and talk to so many couples about their wedding plans and to receive so much wonderful feedback about our imagery and products. The right chemistry between a couple and their photographer is essential so it is great when we really hit it off with a bride.... or couple when the groom has been brave enough to attend.
We know it was busy today so many thanks to all of you who dropped by our stand for a chat! We know it can be information overload so do drop us a line if you have any questions regarding our packages or products, want to check our availability or arrange to come into the studio for a more leisurely chat! Westminster Abbey Wedding

These are some of my favourite images from a recent wedding at Westminster Abbey, London, England. Clare had attended a wedding I shot in 2006 and had really liked my candid style. The wedding reception was held at One Great George Street which is an amazing venue and I would highly recommend it. So this wedding had everything - amazing locations, fantastic couple and great family and friends. Poor old Andy though was suffering by the end of the night with blisters from some new shoes.........we even managed a quick trip to the Tate Modern. CKP Weddings are wedding photographers in london.

Welcome to our new blog! Firstly, I have to thank Brock Martin of Infinet Design for this fantastic blog and for getting it ready on a very tight time frame in time for my new website launch at www.ckpweddings.com.
I am really looking forward to blogging at least once or twice a week. I will be adding images from recent weddings, engagement shoots and some general information from when I am out and about with the family and generally keeping you up to date with everything at CKP!
It is great starting the new year with a fresh new website! 2007 was a really hectic year for me and am so happy to have our fantastically talented associate photographer Andy Le Gresley on board full-time in 2008. You will be seeing a lot more of his images in future on this blog.
